The original stars, Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are confirmed to appear in the new Hunger Games series film, Sunrise on the Reaping.
It has been confirmed that original actors Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will reprise their iconic roles in the newest chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The project is now in the works.
An Important Return to Panem
Lawrence and Hutcherson are returning as Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, respectively. Industry whispers indicate their roles will take the form of a flash-forward sequence, as the original saga concluded with their characters living in peace.
This marks the sixth installment in the highly successful Hunger Games franchise.

Sunrise on the Reaping draws its story from a newly published work by author Suzanne Collins. It serves as the follow-up prequel after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Returning to the director's chair is Francis Lawrence, who directed the majority of the previous films in the series.

The film's narrative are set 24 years before the first Hunger Games, centering on a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, later known as Katniss's mentor, is shown as a tribute in the notorious 50th Hunger Games.
The supporting roles feature several notable actors in key parts:
- Jesse Plemons steps into the role of Plutarch Heavensbee.
- Ralph Fiennes takes on the part of a younger version of the menacing President Snow.

In other news, Jennifer Lawrence stars in the film Die My Love. Josh Hutcherson stars in the sequel to the hit horror film Five Nights at Freddy's 2.
