President Trump Welcomes Loved Ones of Shot Military Soldiers to the White House

Former President Trump revealed on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the relatives of a National Guard member killed last week to come to the White House.

He added that he spoke to her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a attack on Wednesday in DC.

Her fellow service member, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in grave state.

Gatherings across the state have been held in their memory.

Presidential Invitation

The president explained he’s proposed a White House visit for the parents of both individuals of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a tough thing, arrive at the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” the president addressed journalists. “And likewise with him, recover or not.”

Community Support

Community members gathered over the weekend at Webster County high school in the state to remember Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of Trump’s federal initiative to support public safety in Washington DC.

Paying Tribute to Beckstrom

“She was the type of pupil that instructors desired. She carried herself with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a positive energy that inspired those around her,” the principal, the principal of Beckstrom’s former high school, informed the Associated Press. “She was caring, caring and always willing to help others.”

Funeral plans for Beckstrom are still being arranged.

Legal Actions and Policy Adjustments

Officials have accused a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of first-degree murder and charges of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The tragedy led the administration to halt asylum applications and cease granting entry permits to possessors of passports from Afghanistan.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

The airman, a resident of the city, started his military career in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, according to the Associated Press.

He continues to receive treatment and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s leader Morrisey mentioned on a news program.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi stated on the program that she planned to speak to Wolfe’s family.

Memory of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County high school in 2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a law enforcement officer with honor, as stated by the military.

“She had a lot of compassion and she definitely had courage,” he informed the audience at the vigil. “Though her life was cut short, she has left a mark that’s going to be remembered always.”
